About

Leah Wolff-Pomfrey, LCSW, LCAS-A

Leah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) dedicated to helping individuals find emotional balance, heal from trauma, and regain a sense of calm. With a warm, person-centered approach, Leah believes that you are the expert on your own life and works collaboratively with you to honor your unique experiences, strengths, and needs.

Drawing on a combination of Brainspotting, mindfulness, and Polyvagal Theory, Leah helps clients regulate their nervous systems and build resilience. Brainspotting is particularly effective for moments when you know, logically, that a certain emotion doesn’t make sense but can’t shake how you feel. It allows you to access and process the underlying emotional material, releasing trauma or feelings that may be stuck in the body. Mindfulness helps you stay grounded in the present moment, while Polyvagal Theory provides insights into how your nervous system influences your emotions, enabling you to shift from states of stress or overwhelm to a place of calm and connection.

Leah is passionate about creating an approachable, supportive space where you can explore your feelings, work through past experiences, and develop the tools needed to face life’s challenges with more ease and confidence.

Leah has worked with individuals from all walks of life, from retirees to teenagers, and everyone in between. She has gained valuable insights into family dynamics through her work with intensive in-home therapy and has deepened her understanding of somatic-based practices and trauma healing through ongoing education, her therapy practice, and active participation in peer consultations.

Leah earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, whose program is consistently ranked among the top ten MSW programs in the country. During her time there, she was admitted to the Substance Use and Addiction Program, where she developed specialized skills to support individuals impacted by addiction and substance use challenges. Leah also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Appalachian State University, and she has fallen to the "Boonerang" ever since.

Before pursuing her MSW, Leah worked in various roles within the service industry, outdoor tourism, and non-profits. These diverse experiences helped her realize that the common thread throughout her work was her passion for supporting people and guiding them on their personal journeys. This insight has fueled her ongoing commitment to helping individuals navigate their emotional and relational challenges.
